Layer-1 blockchain company Aptos Foundation announced on Oct 18 that it had rewarded its early network participants with free APT tokens.
The Aptos Foundation has provided early network participants with Aptos tokens through an airdrop. Eligible users include those who completed an application for an Aptos Incentivized Testnet, or who minted an APTOS:ZERO testnet NFT. A total of 23,454,750 APT tokens will be airdropped to 124,828 participants. Certain criteria and measures have been taken to try to eliminate bots or otherwise suspicious accounts. No Aptos Foundation or Labs employees or families were eligible for the airdrop.

This airdrop was a great success, as 111,720 people received a total of 21,394,000 tokens. The tokens were distributed in two tiers, with 300 tokens being sent to the majority of recipients (30,821 people) and 150 tokens to the remaining 80,899 participants. This ensured that everyone who participated in the airdrop had the chance to receive a substantial amount of tokens.
The percentage of those who received this airdrop is nearly 89%, out of the total number of eligible people. This demonstrates the significant progress and success of this airdrop, as more than 200 million dollars have been distributed among users.
